Unlike pools in colder states, Henderson and Las Vegas pools don’t get a true off-season, but they do sit mostly unused through the cooler months, and a checklist matters just as much before summer as it would before winter elsewhere. Here’s what to check before demand (and heat) hits.
1. Full water test and rebalance
Water sitting with less circulation over winter often drifts out of balance. Test and adjust chlorine, pH, alkalinity, and calcium hardness before you start using the pool regularly again, rather than after someone jumps in and finds it cloudy.
2. Inspect and service equipment before the heat arrives
Pumps, filters, and heaters that sat idle or ran at reduced schedules over winter are more likely to reveal problems the first time they’re pushed hard again. It’s much better to catch a failing pump in April than during a 110-degree week in July when every repair company in the valley is backed up.
3. Check for winter debris and staining
Reduced circulation and dust storms common in the valley over winter months can leave more buildup than usual at the waterline and in corners. A deep clean now is easier than treating set-in stains later.
4. Confirm safety equipment is in order
Fence latches, pool covers, drain covers, and handrails should all be checked before the pool sees regular use again, especially if kids or guests will be around more once the weather turns.
5. Schedule maintenance before the rush
Every pool service company in Henderson and Las Vegas gets busiest the moment temperatures spike, which means response times slow down right when you need them most. Booking a pre-summer inspection in March or early April, before that rush, gets you seen faster and catches problems while there’s still time to fix them without missing pool season.
Our free 30-point inspection covers all of the above in one visit, so you’re not guessing which of these five steps your pool actually needs.
